Help Katie go to Guatemala.

This June, after graduating from college, I am off to a new adventure! After a competitive application process, I was recently accepted to be a volunteer for Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos ("Our Little Brothers and Sisters,") located in a small town outside of Antiqua, Guatemala. 


This mission of NPH Guatemala is to provide a permanent family and home for about 360 orphaned or abandoned children through the values of unconditional love, shared responsibility and education. NPH relies on volunteers like to me to do this important work. 

I will be working with about 14 children with a variety of special needs from autism to cerebral palsy--helping them learn and grow. 


This volunteer work means a lot to me and for that reason I need to ask for help. This is a year-long volunteer position and while my basic needs will be met by NPH, there are numerous other expenses that I am expected to cover from mandatory Spanish school to all transportation costs. 


I would also like to collect some funds to directly support the children that I will be working with. As resources at NPH are limited, I would like to be able to share some new books, classroom/learning materials, and health supplies. 


A donation of any amount, even a few dollars, will go a long way to helping me serve the children of NPH Guatemala! Here are the estimated expenses I am looking to cover: Travel Immunizations: $150, Airfare to Guatemala: $700(round trip), Language School Tuition: $525 ($175 per week), Language School Room/Board:$225 ($75 per week), Monthly living allowance: $300 ($25 per month), Supplies for classroom: $200. 

Total fundraising goal: $2,000. Any donation at all would mean the world to me and it will go a long way towards helping these children. Thanks for your support!
