From Flores to Belize
it was about a 10 hour day trip. We took public transportation, which made
things longer but we didn't encounter many problems.
We ended up staying at “Sea Spray Hotel” located on the beach in Placencia. The town of Placencia was small and there were not many shops or stores. The locals spoke broken English and a little Spanish. The broken English sounded like gibberish and I couldn't understand a word of it.

We were able to go
snorkeling, which was a first for me. We took a boat out to Laughing Bird Caye
(“Key”), a small island, where we were able to snorkel from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
With the mixture of crystal clear water, white sand, and palm trees, I knew we
were in paradise.
